About Rooted Sustainability Initiative

Rooted Sustainability Initiative was created by founder, Elise Parker, as a way to connect with her local community and teach environmental education and sustainable living practices to children and adults alike. With a BA in Earth Science, a passion for protecting her local coastal environment, and soon a NC state certification in Environmental Education, teaching all ages and sharing skills as she continues to develop her own was a natural path for Elise. What started as a local initiative was soon after impacted by COVID-19 and Elise was forced to reevaluate how she would continue. Like so many others, a shift to online learning has been the answer. Using the courses she created for in-person workshops, Rooted Sustainability Initiative now has the means to reach a much broader audience and share an extended community with those seeking to live a more sustainable lifestyle. With multiple courses being released throughout the year, there is nothing to lose in becoming a member of the Rooted Community!
